Lil Silva- The Distance: Album Review

With a successful first album, The Patience (2011) under his belt, Lil Silva hits the UK music industry with his 2nd EP, The Distance, a rich musical creation of big baselines and soulful soothing rhythms. The Distance is an essential summer album with its perfect structure and effortless energy.

The album features cool dance music such as “No Doubt” which features Silva’s strong vocals combined with the talent of Rosie Lowe, a newbie to the music scene. The song feels like it was created with ease and is an incredibly fresh sound. Lil Silva changes his tune and goes back to his aggressive grime music roots with top track “Mask” and is brilliantly produced.

The one song you should make sure you listen to is definitely “Salient Sarah” which is a creative collaboration with the lead vocalist Sampha from SBTRKT and is the highlight of the album.
The Distance EP is a must listen that is packed full of surprises. Silva comes up with his own musical universe with “Seasons” to produce a warm and soulful sound that can only be described as being set in the future with banging beats and a great rhythm.

Summer album, The Distance by Lil Silva is sure to get you singing and dancing along to the beat and will bring Silva success long after the summer season.
